In the heart of Africa, a large agricultural operation needed a reliable energy system to ensure continuous power for irrigation, storage, and processing equipment. The goal was to maintain stable electricity supply even during grid interruptions and peak-demand periods.
Before the installation, the farm relied on inconsistent grid power and high-carbon diesel generators. These solutions were costly, less efficient, and did not fully meet the operational needs of the agricultural processes.
BSLBATT provided a robust energy storage solution using 42 B-LFP48-300E batteries, each with 15 kWh capacity, connected in parallel to form a total 630 kWh system. The batteries were paired with a 180 kVA Victron inverter equipped with the largest external transfer switch to ensure seamless operation and efficient integration with a 286.06 kWP solar PV array.
Since deployment, the system has been running steadily, supplying reliable power for all agricultural operations. It supports daily electricity use, provides backup during outages, and optimizes solar energy utilization, allowing the farm to reduce reliance on generators and grid power.
The project has improved energy reliability, enhanced operational efficiency, and enabled more sustainable energy management on the farm.
This case demonstrates how a large-scale lithium battery system can deliver stable, efficient, and practical energy storage for commercial agricultural operations.
