PowerLine-5 with Victron Inverter Residential Solar Energy Storage Project in Barbados

This project was installed at a residential property in Barbados, where homeowners aimed to improve energy independence and make better use of local solar resources. The system was designed for daily household electricity consumption, with a focus on reducing reliance on the public grid and ensuring power availability during outages.

Before the installation, the household experienced unstable grid supply and occasional power interruptions. Backup power relied on diesel generators, which were noisy, costly to operate, and required frequent maintenance. These issues affected daily living and increased long-term energy expenses.

BSLBATT participated in the project by providing PowerLine-5 wall-mounted lithium batteries and supporting the overall energy storage design. Four battery units were configured to work with a Victron inverter, creating a compact home energy storage system that integrates smoothly with rooftop solar generation.

After commissioning, the system has operated reliably under normal household charge and discharge cycles. Solar energy is stored during the day and used in the evening and during grid interruptions. The battery system provides stable backup power and supports consistent daily electricity use.

With the new system in place, the household has reduced dependence on both the grid and diesel generators. Energy use has become more predictable, and overall power reliability has improved while maintaining a low-emission energy solution.

This case shows how a small-scale lithium energy storage system can support stable and cleaner residential power use in island environments.
