Reliable electricity is essential for healthcare facilities, yet many hospitals in remote regions of the Solomon Islands continue to face challenges caused by unstable power supplies, frequent outages, and the high cost of diesel-generated electricity. For medical institutions that depend on continuous power for patient care, refrigeration of medicines and vaccines, diagnostic equipment, and emergency services, even a short interruption can have serious consequences. To address these challenges, Superfly Limited delivered a reliable renewable energy solution for a local hospital, helping the medical facility overcome energy instability and ensure continuous access to power for critical healthcare operations.

To overcome these challenges, the hospital deployed a renewable energy storage system built around 45 BSLBATT B-LFP48-100E lithium batteries, providing a total storage capacity of approximately 230kWh. The battery system was integrated with Victron Energy and Fronius inverters in an AC-coupled configuration, enabling seamless coordination between solar generation, battery storage, and existing power sources. During periods of strong solar production, excess energy is stored in the batteries for later use, while the system automatically supplies stored power whenever solar generation decreases or grid power becomes unavailable. This intelligent energy management approach ensures a stable and reliable electricity supply around the clock.

The installation has significantly improved the hospital’s energy resilience while reducing its dependence on costly diesel generators. By maximizing the use of renewable energy and providing reliable backup power, the system helps lower operating costs, minimize fuel consumption, and support more sustainable healthcare operations. Most importantly, it ensures that critical medical services can continue without interruption, giving healthcare professionals the confidence to serve patients even in challenging conditions.

This project demonstrates the transformative role that energy storage can play in remote and island communities where energy security remains a major concern. Through the collaboration between Superfly Limited and BSLBATT, this Solomon Islands hospital project has established a reliable and sustainable power infrastructure by combining proven lithium battery technology with advanced inverter solutions. It stands as an excellent example of how modern energy storage solutions can improve quality of life, strengthen critical public services, and accelerate the transition toward a cleaner and more resilient energy future.
