This project is located on a farmland site in Barbados, where agriculture depends heavily on stable electricity for irrigation systems, greenhouse lighting, and basic farm operations. The client aimed to build an off-grid energy system to support daily agricultural activities without relying on the local power grid.

Before the installation, the farm frequently experienced power interruptions and depended on diesel generators during outages. Fuel costs were high, generator maintenance was time consuming, and nighttime operations were often affected when the grid supply became unstable.

BSLBATT participated in the project by supplying lithium energy storage batteries based on the B-LFP48-200E model. The system was designed as an off-grid solar plus storage solution, working with Victron inverters to manage energy conversion and battery charging efficiently. The overall design focused on ensuring sufficient storage capacity to cover daily and overnight power demand.

After deployment, the energy storage system has been running stably. The batteries can be fully charged within a short time during peak solar hours and provide continuous power when solar generation is unavailable. The system meets routine charging and discharging requirements and supports uninterrupted farm operations.

As a result, the farm has reduced its dependence on diesel fuel and improved energy reliability. Power availability is now predictable, allowing irrigation and greenhouse systems to operate on a consistent schedule.

This case shows how lithium energy storage can support off-grid agricultural operations in regions with unstable power infrastructure.
