A cold storage facility in North Carolina recently faced recurring challenges with its fleet of 40 Hyster counterbalanced forklifts. Operating in sub-zero temperatures, the lead-acid batteries used previously struggled to deliver consistent power, resulting in frequent downtime, voltage drops, and labor-intensive maintenance, such as watering and equalization charging.
To solve these issues, the facility partnered with BSLBATT to upgrade all forklifts to lithium power. Each Hyster forklift battery was replaced with a high-performance BSLBATT LiFePO4 system, designed specifically for cold storage applications.

In addition to cold resistance, the upgraded cold storage forklift battery solution enables fast recharging—even in refrigerated environments—helping to reduce downtime during peak operating hours. With UL-recognized safety and maintenance-free operation, the new lithium system has significantly improved equipment reliability and operational efficiency.
